Officially, blue vervain likes wet soils, but it's been growing in my dry, sandy hellstrip by the street for a few years. It doesn't get quite as tall there, but it still thrives. This is a nice plant to add some height to your garden. The delicate purplish flowers attract lots of pollinators. In my garden it seems like it grows somewhere just a little different each year because it readily reseeds itself and spreads, but it isn't aggressive.
