Other names for this plant are rough-stemmed goldenrod and rough-leaved goldenrod. This goldenrod is best suited for large spaces. It is a bit aggressive so match it with other aggressive plants or give it room to spread. It likes moist soil but will tolerate sandy soil if it is kept watered. The mass of yellow flowers that wrinkleaf goldenrod creates in the fall is definitely spectacular.
(And no, goldenrods do not cause hayfever. They have heavy, sticky pollen that does not get airborn. Ragweed is usually the culprit of fall allergies.)
