Wild lupine is endangered in Massachusetts. It hybridizes easily with other lupine species that are found in gardens so it has become hard to find straight species. I get seeds from Wild Seed Project in Maine every year to ensure the plants I grow are not crossed with other species or hybrids. These beautiful plants like drier soil in full sun and they don't like competetion. It can take several years for lupine plants to bloom. They spend the first two or three years getting established and growing roots. The third or fourth year they should send up flowers.
